Literacy

NSRW delivered 150 personal dictionaries to the students of Stewart Creek Elementary and 132 to the students of Montgomery Elementary School. Our goal is to put a dictionary into each Montgomery ISD and Willis ISD 3rd grader’s hand before the end of the year. The personal dictionaries are excellent resources for the students to use at home while studying and the students were very excited to receive them. Mrs. Hylander, principal at Stewart Creek Elementary, took the time to go through the dictionary with the kids pointing out various highlights such as sign language, maps, the information on the US Presidents and even the longest word in the dictionary. They were truly intrigued and excited. Mrs. Graves, principal at Montgomery Elementary, expressed how truly grateful she is for the gift to the students. All of our teachers and administrators do such an outstanding job with our kids. We truly appreciate them and all that they do.

Thank you to all our wonderful members that made a donation to this project. You have made a difference and have shown how much you care. We will continue to take donations so that we can meet our goal. We have about 300 dictionaries still needed for Montgomery ISD and 600 for Willis ISD. There are 24 dictionaries per box. Each box costs $40.80. So we need approximately 38 boxes donated. It is a great time to make your year-end tax deductible contributions to this organization. Please make your checks payable to the Dictionary Project.
