NSRW 2025 Scholarship WinnersNorth Shore Republican Women is pleased to announce the winners of our two $2,000 scholarships are Brooke Baker, graduating senior at Montgomery High School and Melissa Guerrero, graduating from Willis High School. Congratulations to these outstanding young women!
Brooke is a member of North Shore Republican Women. She plans to attend the Honors College at Oklahoma State University, and has been accepted into the band there. She has been a valued member of the Montgomery Golden Bear Band, playing the clarinet and serving as librarian and vice president. She was a member of the Criminal Justice Club, Business Professionals of America, and Texas Future Music Educators. Melissa is the Salutatorian at Willis this year and plans to attend University of Southern California, majoring in Economics and Public Policy. Her long-term ambition is to become a judge. She has been vice president and president of the Student Council, president of the Distributive Educational Clubs of America, vice president of the National Honor Society, and member of the Leo Club and Writers Workshop. She also organized a volunteer reading event at Turner Elementary. |
North Shore Republican Women Scholarship Application Requirements for Montgomery High School & Willis High School
Members of NSRW offer scholarships to students at Willis and/or Montgomery senior high schools. These scholarships are designed to provide financial support for college expenses to young men and women who plan to be or are involved with the Republican Party.

Applicants MUST meet ALL requirements:
1. Applicants must attend Montgomery High School, Willis High School, or an alternative schooling high school as identified by the Texas Education Agency (TEA)** as a senior with their school of record designating a 2025 graduation.
2. Applicants must be accepted to attend college in the Fall of 2025 and must be scheduled to attend college full-time. Student must provide a copy of the official letter of acceptance and enrollment from the college.
3. The applicant must provide a letter of recommendation from a school administrator, a Republican elected official, or a high school social studies faculty member attesting to the student’s interest in the political future of Montgomery County.
4. The applicant must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 grade scale. Students enrolled in dual credit courses or advanced placement courses will receive additional consideration.
6. The applicant must submit a copy of the student’s official high school transcript from the 2025 Spring semester.
7. The applicant must provide a photocopy of the student’s official SAT or ACT scores, or other accepted assessments approved for placement. If the student was exempted from the SAT, a photocopy of the student’s official TSI/TSIA2 scores should be submitted.
8. A brief personal interview with the NSRW Scholarship Committee may be held with applicants who are under consideration before the finalist(s) is selected. Interviews may be held virtually or in person.
9. The applicant must submit a second letter of recommendation from an adult (not a relative) who can attest to or verify the applicant’s academic and extra-curricular achievements including GPA. Please do not include “To Whom It May Concern” form letters.
10. Applicant must provide a letter (200 – 250 words typed and double spaced) stating why the Northshore Republican Women’s Scholarship should be awarded to the applicant.
11. Applicants selected as possible recipients must be willing to participate in a brief personal interview with the NSRW Scholarship Committee which may be held virtually or in person before final selections are made.
